I know art is not code, but hear me out.

DALLE is Like Glide for Art

No-code tools like Glide, Adalo, Bubble, Webflow, Softr enable non-coders to take their ideas and build apps. These ideas have become businesses that are now part of the world economy.
The latest AI-based image generators like DALLE, Stable Diffusion, MidJourney, and others are the same; they allow non-artist to make art from their ideas. These ideas will become part of the visual components of other ideas that will also become part of the world economy.
There’s a trend here, I think.

The Democratization of Everything

AI art generators are the latest example of how no-code and AI-based tools will usher in the democratization of how things are built. These tools, combined with the countless others already available or coming, will continue democratizing everything, or at least how we as humans create.
Anyone with an idea will be able to act on that idea. Somewhere right now, someone is solving a problem, building a business or a community, and enhancing the lives of others.

The Future of Collaboration

AI-based art generators are showing us the future and justifiably freaking some people out. If you’re an artist who spent years learning your craft, these new tools may not seem as exciting, but the genie is already out of the bottle. We must befriend it and learn to collaborate.
I see the new AI-based tools as partners in a new world where we will collaboratively create everything. Some of us will have to rethink or retrain, but these changes already bring opportunities.
We’ve been collaborating with machines for decades now. AI is leveling us up.
